![]() ![]() CARNEGIE, FACEY TO RECEIVE CARLTON ALEXANDER AWARD
Well-known historian, educator and sports administrator, Jimmy Carnegie(above left) - and Chairman of the Pan Jamaican Group, Maurice Facey are the 1999 recipients of the Carlton Alexander Award presented annually to alumni who have demonstrated excellence in their respective fields and contributed to national life. The recipients will be honoured at a dinner to be held at the Hilton Kingston Hotel on Thursday, November 18, 1999 at 8:00 pm. Cocktails begin at 7:15pm. JIMMY MARKS 50 YEARS 1999 is a particularly significant year for Jimmy Carnegie as it marks his 50th year of association with Jamaica College beginning first as student, teacher then Vice Principal; and continuing his support variously through the years on the school sports committee, the board of governors and as executive member of the old boys association. YEAR GROUP SUPPORT We look forward to having a particularly large turn out this year. Many of you are aware of Maurice Faceys steadfast support for commercial development, restoration of downtown Kingston and tourism and cultural development in Jamaica, as well as his consistent support for Jamaica College.
